Data Recovery Raid - Storage Media Recovery

RAID provides high performance to computer users, especially server users. But sometimes, it can also bring you much trouble. For example, when you suffering data loss on RAID disk or drive caused by system crash, virus attack or power failure/surge, things will become terrible! Because RAID data recovery is not an easy job. But don't worry! If you luckily read this article, you can learn how to recover data from RAID easily here.

General knowledge about RAID

Before starting to introduce RAID data recovery tutorial, let's learn some basic knowledge about RAID first. RAID is an acronym for Redundant Array of Independent Disks. It offers fault tolerance (the ability of a system to continue to perform functions even when one or more hard disk drives have failed) and higher protection against data loss than a single hard drive. Another advantage of RAID is that multiple disks working together increase overall system performance.

Different levels of RAID RAID 0 - Striped Disk Array without Fault Tolerance: Provides data striping (spreading out blocks of each file across multiple disk drives) but no redundancy. This improves performance but does not deliver fault tolerance. If one drive fails then all data in the array is lost.

RAID 1 - Mirroring Volume: Provides disk mirroring. Level 1 provides twice the read transaction rate of single disks and the same write transaction rate as single disks.

RAID 5 - Block Interleaved Distributed Parity: Provides data striping at the byte level and also stripe error correction information. This results in excellent performance and good fault tolerance. Level 5 is one of the most popular implementations of RAID.

RAID 10 (or RAID 0+1) - A Mirror of Stripes: Not one of the original RAID levels, two RAID 0 stripes are created, and a RAID 1 mirror is created over them. Used for both replicating and sharing data among disks.

How to do RAID data recovery with RAID recovery software

Performing RAID data recovery at random can result in terrible results, so please use the reliable EaseUS RAID recovery software and follow the above guide to manage the task safely. And here I list some commonly used RAID levels and introduce their advantages respectively. Hope it is helpful for you to choose the one works best for you by assessing your needs.
